Workshop Terms & Conditions

Cancellation

We understand that things can go wrong, and something might occur which prevents you from attending your workshop. If you do find you need to cancel your place once paid for, this is what we can offer:

3 months or more notice given - you can choose from our available dates to rebook, or have a full refund.

Less than 3 months but more than 4 weeks notice given - you can choose from our available dates to rebook, or if we are able to re-book your place we will offer a full refund.

4 weeks or less notice given - if we are able to re-book your place we will offer you an alternative date to attend. If we are unable to re-book your place we won’t be able to offer you an alternative date, but you are welcome to pass on your place to someone else.

If your place has been booked with a gift voucher we do not offer a cash refund, but the following will apply:

2 months or more notice given - you can choose from our available dates to rebook.

Less than 2 months notice given - we will make all attempts to re-book your place and if we are successful we will offer you an alternative specific date to attend. If we are not successful in re-booking your place we cannot offer a new date, but you are of course entitled to pass on your place to someone else.

If you have booked a workshop with us for a private group (not on one of our public dates), we do not give a refund but will rearrange for a future mutually convenient date.

*Over and above these terms, at our discretion we may offer an exception should you need to cancel your place due to illness. We reserve the right to request medical evidence such as a Doctor’s note.

In the event that we need to cancel a workshop ourselves, for example due to staff illness or insufficient bookings, we will offer you a choice of a refund or an alternative date. If you booked with a Gift Voucher you will receive a voucher credit.  We cannot be held liable for any other costs you may incur as a result of the cancellation (eg accommodation or travel bookings).

Health and Safety

Please note that the very nature of glass fusing means that harmful materials are used. Some of the glass enamels you will be using are classed as toxic, with lead and other heavy metal/oxide content. We provide you with gloves and dust masks to reduce the amount of contact you will have with the materials.

We advise against anyone who is pregnant or breast-feeding attending.

The glass you will be using will already be cut to size for you, but in a glass workshop environment there is always the possibility of getting glass cuts or picking up small glass splinters.

Some of our shorter workshops are suitable for children aged 10 or over, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Liability

We will provide a health and safety briefing at the beginning of the workshop. We do have Public Liability insurance but cannot be held responsible for any illness or injury that occurs from not following the health and safety guidance given.

Copyright

Steve is passionate about working with glass enamels and is pleased to offer these workshops to give a great insight into how these materials can be used, and what can be achieved with them. During your workshop Steve may demonstrate how he creates some of his own unique designs and patterns. We would ask you to respect that Steve owns the copyright to these.

If you are an artist yourself, particularly if operating on a commercial basis (ie selling your work), please do not attempt to recreate any of Steve’s products, designs or patterns outside of our workshop.

We do take copying of Steve’s work seriously and are a member of ACID (Anti Copying in Design) who provide us with legal assistance in protecting our design rights.
