Sculptural bowl inspired by foaming ocean waves and frothy shorelines, in green, teal and white
The glass is hand-coloured with enamel powders to create the unique pattern and textures, and fired in a mould I create myself. The mould is partially destroyed in the firing process and has to be re-built - so every bowl is a unique shape.
After the kiln firing, the edges of the dish are ground with a series of diamond pads to give a beautiful polished finish. I have left some edges unpolished where they naturally curl, for an organic wave-like feel.
The bowl has a flat area to the base so that it is stable, and is signed underneath.
Approximate dimensions: diameter 42cm x height 20cm.
